We’ll support you with training, employee resource groups, and our shared vision of global security. Northrop Grumman is seeking Intern, Metrology Engineer to join the Space Systems Intern Program. This position is located in Promontory, Utah. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Propulsion Systems.
As an intern, you’ll participate in a summer internship program to develop competencies in a variety of technical specializations that may include:
Roles and Responsibilities
• Create and review calibration methods based on International and governmental standards.
• Coordinate and evaluate suppliers and contractors used for special calibration services
Engineering/manufacturing technology calibration oversight
• Programming of measurement devices involved in product
• Process, environmental and safety controls
• Interfaces and manipulates CMM inspection programs using PC-DMIS or Poly-Works software
• Including set-up instructions and calibration
• Works with tooling personnel in the use of CAD (SolidWorks) to design and develop Metrology test fixtures
• Attend review meetings and participate in training and product knowledge sessions as required
• Maintain engineering documentation within the MetTeam database
• Troubleshoot instruments performing out of tolerance in order to correct and assure proper function
• Utilize and understand instrument operating instruction and manuals to correctly diagnose and troubleshoot instrument issues
• Assist other engineering personnel with qualification and validation of new or changed tooling or parts
• Establish priorities of work, for self and delegated to others
• Generate ideas and suggestions for reducing calibration turnaround time
• Record data and results as specified in documentation procedures

Basic Qualifications
A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
• Be enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university AND graduating after July 2021.
• Be majoring in a STEM Degree
• Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)
• Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2021
• Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) Preferred Qualifications
• Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.70 out of 4.0 or higher
