We’re excited to announce that we’ve opened a full time position for a Staff Engineer on our ProSeries Desktop team in San Diego.

This is a highly collaborative role that will require partnering with an amazing team to develop a product used by over 55,000 Professional Tax Accountants each year. Your hands-on work will help these accountants deliver over 26 million tax returns each season and will bring in over $200 million in revenue.

• BS/MS in CS or equivalent work experience
• 8 or more years professional experience with developing C++ and/or Windows software applications
• Professional experience with full stack development
• Mastery of OOD, engineering practices, and C++ or C#
• Excellent verbal, written and partnership skills
• Demonstrate high potential for critical thinking skills (ability to analyze complex ideas and break them down to easily digestible pieces)
• Ability to identify and gather data, analyze it, and drive business decisions using that data
• Ability to learn a lot, quickly
• Comfortable with a tough code base, and willing to ask for help when needed
• Experience with the full software development lifecycle (SDLC). You won’t just code on this . you’ll drive features end to end, run customer studies, create design/architecture, write learning plans, and coordinate with customer care
• Can-do attitude, with a passion for excellence, the ability to make decisions independently, and a willingness to embrace the mantra “it’s not my fault, but it’s my problem”
• Ability and comfort to move at blazing speed and efficiency, while still focusing on quality and asking whether we are doing the right thing
• Experience leading a team or managing a project, driving significant business impact
