PRIMARY PURPOSE:

It is the responsibility of the Laborer to provide general assistance to all areas of the property. All duties are to be performed in accordance with federal, state, local laws, regulations, and ordinances, as well as department and company policies, practices, and procedures to ensure overall facility integrity.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collecting/carrying required parts materials and/or equipment to designated work areas; assist with office, furniture and casino equipment moves, and with demolition and clean up on construction projects
  • Pick up parts and supplies from vendors, keep property maintenance department warehouse clean and orderly
  • Responsible for completion of all jobs assigned by Dispatch or Management and maintain logbooks
  • Operate motorized/power equipment; skyjack, forklift, scissor lift, jack hammer and other heavy machinery; fuel and service engineering vehicles; maintain inventory of keys and tools in the Engineering Tool Room
  • Work under minimal supervision to complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Keep informed and updated on current techniques and technical methods and advise Shift Supervisor of any unusual conditions within the property
  • Maintain constant awareness of personal and property cleanliness, safety and accident prevention; able to wear/use personal protective equipment (p.p.e.)
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • General knowledge of mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Knowledgeable of the type of equipment and materials used by facilities/maintenance technicians
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Basic knowledge of computer software to include Outlook, MS Word, and Excel
  • Effective listening abilities with strong judgment skills
  • Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Pool Operator Certification
  • Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays

PREFERRED:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bilingual
  • Previous experience in the hospitality industry or similar environment
