The Packaging Associate I is a member of a Packaging Line Team. The Packaging Associate I runs packaging equipment to package over the counter solid dose product in a safe, compliant and efficient manner. This role will perform basic troubleshooting and line changeover tasks, including, but not limited to: Line purge, reconciliation, clearance, equipment setup, and equipment cleaning. This role will also take part in moderately complex mechanical changeover tasks and may also perform simple maintenance tasks. The role will also demonstrate use of MES and SAP, including troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure quality, compliance, and the highest level of integrity in all actions.
  • Maintain strong working GMP knowledge, communicate and identify GMP gaps, attend GMP training, and adhere to strict compliance with applicable procedures.
  • In a timely and prompt manner, identify, report, and seek correction for deviations noted in the workplace.
  • Embrace a behavior of employee involvement and dedication to doing the job right the first time.
  • Operate all packaging equipment/machinery on assigned line(s) involved in the packaging of over-the-counter solid dose products at JJCI-Lancaster in accordance with approved manufacturing procedures.
  • Safely, compliantly, and efficiently perform basic changeover tasks including purge, reconciliation, line clean and equipment cleans.
  • Perform basic equipment setup tasks and mechanical changeover tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records/documentation related to work in progress.
  • Efficiently and accurately execute within MES and SAP systems.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of mechanical and/or technical tasks.
  • Trains other operators in packaging processes.
  • Safely operate Powered Industrial Vehicles.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical training preferred.
  • Experience and Skills:
    • Required:
      • Zero (0) to two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
    • Preferred:
      • Familiarity with MES or SAP, or equivalent manufacturing or inventory control systems
      • Demonstrated high level of mechanical aptitude.
      • Excellent interpersonal skills required.
      • Basic computer skills, including Windows Operating Systems and applications or equivalent required.
      • Experience with computerized materials management and document tracking systems required.
    • Other:
      • Requires ability to work 2nd Shift (Monday 2:00 pm – Friday 10:30 pm) or 3rd Shift (Sunday 10:00 pm – Friday 6:30 am and flexibility to provide coverage on weekends, after/before hours, and other shifts as needed.
      • Requires the ability to meet the physical demands, including frequently lift/carry up to 35lbs and occasionally up to 50lbs.
