We are a part of Emerging Technologies and Incubation Group passionate about identifying breakthrough emerging solutions that build new markets and businesses for Cisco. We incubate these new opportunities in partnership with our business groups and the industry. The team also continues progress through Cisco’s meaningful work with Standards bodies and manages research partnerships with leading-edge Universities.

What You’ll Do

The Incubation Research and Engineering (IRE) team commits itself to solving these hard, large problems in an agile, ambitious and entrepreneurial manner. We strive for 10X the impact to Cisco’s customers by creating elegant engineering solutions. And along that journey, we celebrate and learn from the launches, landings and failures.​​​

As a design thinker you will help lead research activities, derive insights, generate concepts, communicate those concepts visually, and work with developers and product managers to build and test them. More specifically, you will help innovators across Cisco accelerate their projects by applying some of the latest innovation methodologies such as design thinking, lean start-up, and service design.

Who You’ll Work With

The Emerging Technologies and Incubation (ET&I) team is a highly visible group which reports directly to Cisco’s CEO. ET&I focuses on the next wave of innovation by anticipating, investing in, and incubating new technologies and business ventures.

You will be part of the Incubation team in the US, to develop new solutions, and bring them to market in a startup like environment.

Who you are

Our Minimum Qualifications for this Role Are:

• You are a lean start-up & design-thinking practitioner and have experience bringing innovative concepts to market
• Good understanding of UI/UX principles
• Proficiency in designing interfaces and building clickable prototypes using tools like Figma, Sketch, Axure, and Invision
• You have 2+ years’ experience as a project / program manager
• You have a Bachelor of Design degree or equivalent
• Ability to create written materials and awesome visual presentations that are accessible to non-experts as well as being legally and technically accurate.
• You are a Team player with openness and a willingness to learn
• Fluent in written and spoken English

• Entrepreneurial drive with proven ability to achieve/stretch goals in an innovative and dynamic environment with shifting priorities and objectives
• Experience working in a start-up environment or for an innovation team
• Strong organizing and stakeholder management skills. Ability to influence at all levels, to close gaps in conflicting priorities and to align a core and broader virtual team to achieve a common goal.
• Excellent communication skills – written, verbal and presentation
