Job Description

The Department of Infectious Disease and Vaccines at our Company’s Research Laboratories in West Point, PA is seeking a Scientist to join a group of researchers dedicated to the discovery of novel anti-viral drugs and vaccines. The role will be primarily responsible for developing and performing in vitro assays in support of vaccine discovery.

The successful candidate will:

• Optimize and execute novel in vitro immunoassays to evaluate vaccine candidates.
• Properly document and report experimental findings and assay protocols, and comply with all laboratory safety requirements.
• Function effectively within a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Be adept at learning new skills/techniques.

Required experience and skills:

• BA/BS in biology or related discipline and two years of experience post-graduation, or MA/MS in biology or related discipline.
• Experience in tissue culture, molecular biology or in vitro assays.
• Strong collaborative skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

• Design, development and execution of in vitro assays.
• Industry experience or MS.
• Lab automation.
• Virology experience including virus amplification, purification and neutralization assay.

Education Minimum Requirement:

• BA/BS in biology, biochemistry, virology, or related discipline.
