The Department of Infectious Disease and Vaccines at our Company’s Research Laboratories in West Point, PA is seeking a Scientist to join a group of researchers dedicated to the discovery of novel anti-viral drugs and vaccines. The role will be primarily responsible for developing and performing in vitro assays in support of vaccine discovery.
The successful candidate will:
- Optimize and execute novel in vitro immunoassays to evaluate vaccine candidates.
- Properly document and report experimental findings and assay protocols, and comply with all laboratory safety requirements.
- Function effectively within a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Be adept at learning new skills/techniques.
Required experience and skills:
- BA/BS in biology or related discipline and two years of experience post-graduation, or MA/MS in biology or related discipline.
- Experience in tissue culture, molecular biology or in vitro assays.
- Strong collaborative skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Design, development and execution of in vitro assays.
- Industry experience or MS.
- Lab automation.
- Virology experience including virus amplification, purification and neutralization assay.
Education Minimum Requirement:
- BA/BS in biology, biochemistry, virology, or related discipline.
