LAB TECHNICIAN with administrative responsibilities: This position is in our animal nutrition manufacturing plant. It is an entry level position and we provide on-the-job training. After completion of job training, you will have the skills and abilities to perform routine laboratory and administrative responsibilities.

SALARY: $20/hour

HOURS: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, this role may require overtime during busy seasons.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: High School/GED
• Experience: No previous experience is required
• Skills: Should be able to handle simple math calculations. Should have good eye/hand coordination and a comfort level working with chemistry in a lab environment.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

• Complexity: Requires the ability to comprehend and perform scientific written and oral instructions with supervision.
• Supervision Received: You will report to the Lab Supervisor.
• Impact on Operations: Assurance of quality products is dependent on accurate completion, review, and reporting of your lab responsibilities.
• Environment: This position works primarily in the laboratory areas. Requires good physical, visual and mental attention. On occasion special safety equipment may be required for entry into a hazardous manufacturing area.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Frequent movement including walking, standing, bending/stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms, lifting, climbing and other active movements

• Performing duties while wearing personal protective equipment
• You will be required to work go into the plant where the temperature is a cold and/or hot environments. In the plant, dust is also present

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Complete assignments on time and as written in procedures. Assure accurate completion of tests to minimize retests on same sample. Understand and follow lab and company safety, quality and behavioral policies.
• Maintain good relationship with plant personnel contacts.
• Responsible for safe and compliant handling of ingredients.
• Prepare and review documents necessary for plant operations
• Provide administrative support to the full-time Administrative Coordinator, when needed.
