We are looking for an outstanding data scientist who wants to build and maintain scalable, business critical systems. Our Shipping Science team uses machine learning models to:

• Using machine learning to determine item delivery dates
• Improving how fast delivery impacts product search and seller conversions
• Assess marketplace trust and reliability

Job Functions:

• You will work on a team of data scientists charged with improving eBay’s shipping science
• Train and tune machine learning models to improve the quality of delivery estimates for eBay customers
• Perform analyses to identify areas for improvement
• Work with data scientists, engineers, and cross functional teams to produce end-to-end production-ready solutions
• Build reliable solutions with high quality, performance, and scalability

Job Requirements

• At least 5 years of industry experience in machine learning, statistical modeling and coding
• Deep understanding of machine learning methods and evaluation methods. Graduate degree preferred
• Proven experience driving data science projects to completion
• Proficiency in SQL as well as Hadoop, Spark, or related technologies
• Proficiency in Python or R
