Supply Chain Planner

Overview
Our supply chain and operations teams in Microsoft work closely with our hardware development teams and other customer facing organizations to drive strategy around supply chain solutions and operations to improve processes and customer experiences. As a Supply chain professional, you are the link between our hardware development teams and the marketplace. Whether collaborating with team leaders and producers or contacting outside vendors and support businesses, you use outstanding communication skills to maximize exposure for products in the categories of gaming, tablets and PCs, PC hardware, augmented reality, and mobile.
Challenge yourself to optimize efficiency and costs as products are moved between supplier and retail and guarantee that our supply matches the needs of our partners and customers. You also develop best practices to make sure that efficiency consistently improves in the supply chain. Your leadership as an end-to-end supply chain professional underpins the strength of our global performance.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in operations, supply chain management, industrial engineering or relevant fields with at least one semester/quarter remaining after internship.
  • Experience with global materials life-cycle management (development, launch, sustaining and end of life) and start-up/shut-down process management preferred.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning, material management systems and implementations a plus.
  • Ability to analyze, explain, and draw conclusions based on complex data from multiple content areas.
