Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems sector is looking for an Associate Research Scientist to support the Missile Products organization/business unit.Position Summary:
- Oversee the environmental testing area in the research laboratory as a technical lead
- Proactively interact with the environmental sampling group to ensure compliance with EPA standards
- Maintain sampling and testing schedule
- Participate in and support audits of the environmental testing
- Document work in technical reports and communicate results to technical peers and EPA
- Perform chemical analyses and experimental testing
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills necessary to effectively collaborate in a team environment
- Ability and experience working effectively under deadlines, with considerable latitude in determining technical objectives and a track record of delivering results
- Effective at managing and executing several challenging projects simultaneously, and with competing priorities
- High ethical standards of work and personal conduct
- Willingness to work outside of standard work hours when needed to resolve issues
- Proficiency in MS office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Able to obtain a Secret Clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship as a prerequisite
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Biology
- Experience working in a chemistry or biology laboratory
- Goal orientated, capable of setting and meeting objectives
- Capable of offering technical expertise and guidance, building rapport with team members and external departments
- Assuring proper records of reagents, standards, supplies and samples
- Understanding and/or experience with methods being used in the laboratory
Salary Range: 57800 – 86600
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
