Research Data Scientist
Summary:
The mission of our program is to solve key business problems using sensor- and imaging-based technologies. This is an industry-leading mobile/sensor-based technology initiative striving to utilize dynamic/continuous remote monitoring of patients’ symptoms as novel endpoints for disease diagnosis and health state assessment. The Research Data Scientist will be a self-directed scientist and will support our research efforts group, primarily responsible for analyzing motion capture data of gait and related activities, preferably based in Cambridge, MA. The individual needs to have a strong biomechanical background, and preferably experience analyzing motion capture data from human subjects.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze motion capture data of gait and related activities, to be used as reference comparisons for metrics derived from wearable sensor-based technologies
- Work under general supervision while compliant with local and our standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Potential opportunity to support efforts to evaluate technologies of interest our group, such as mobility and gait
- Work closely with technical lead, data scientists, statisticians, and inputs from other group members when working on SIMI data
Qualifications:
- MS in biomedical disciplines with strong biomechanical experience required; PhD or individuals finishing PhD program with a minimum of 1+ years of experimental research experience preferred
- Strong analytical and programing skills for analyzing human movement data, especially motion capture data, such as Vicon or comparable systems
- Interest in digital clinical measures with mobile/sensor-based technologies, experience working in research setting
- Highly self-motivated, can work both independently and in a team setting
- Familiarity with SIMI® motion capture technology preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
