Branch & Region Development exists to lead, develop and partner with each regional leadership team to achieve their region’s business objective based on unique market opportunities. Success is achieving a market tailored approach where region objectives and measures are tailored, resources are appropriately prioritized and deployed, and regions realize their unique market opportunities. This allows focused support for region leadership to be abundant and capable doing the right work through effective and efficient processes creating strong and valued partnerships between Home Office and field leaders.Support Specialists work in partnership with their Area Teams (including Area Coordinator, Area Leaders/Player Coaches) to support the planning and execution of area/region business plans. Provide timely and accurate resources to support both the Area Leader and Regional Leader Branch Teams. Delivers the right results by identifying and creating effective and efficient processes. Creates strong and valued partnerships between Area Leaders, Key Stakeholders and field leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand the Area Business Plan and how it is connects to Region Operating System
- Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with Regional Leader Branch Teams and other field leaders, by providing excellent service to support region results
- Active participant with the Area Team and keeping current on department, division and firm initiatives
- Coordinate various meetings with multiple participants through effective organization, communication and prioritization skills
- Assist Area Leaders in keeping stewardship a top priority
- Maintain area reports to support the Area and Region Business Plans
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, including information around department, leadership, and firm changes
- Assist in department operational activities
- Process Region role exceptions
- Identify opportunities for self-development
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience required
- 1-2 years of customer service, operational processing or comparable experience working in the financial services industry or Edward Jones is recommended
- Experience providing executive support while working in a team environment
- Must have skills in using Microsoft Office and specific departmental systems (JonesLink, BRD site, etc.)
- Ability to tailor and adjust personal work style to meet Area, Team or Department preferences and priorities
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to work in a fast paced, team-oriented environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong active listening skills
- Ability to identify when a problem occurs, find the root cause and offer a solution to correct the problem
- Ability to evaluate current processes to determine opportunities for enhancements and efficiencies
