The Medical Associate, Customer Relations evaluates, investigates and documents written and telephone complaints and technical inquiries regarding all JJVC device products. Evaluates medical complaints, assigns appropriate classification and determines filing requirements per product type. Files/submits adverse event reports to the appropriate worldwide regulatory bodies within the required timelines. Responsible for actively monitoring workflow and ensuring initial and updated medical reports are filed on time to applicable regulatory agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Positively interacting with the customer and eye care professional, educates and advises on proper use and potential replacement options of JJVC products
  • Coordinate medical expense reimbursement claims ensuring compliance to applicable company guidelines
  • Adheres to GMP regulations within complaint and medical files and other documents within the department
  • Peer review / audit of medical reportable files ensuring accurate submission to regulatory bodies
  • Participates in other activities as required including reviewing new / emerging regulations, project teams, training new associates, etc
  • Works in a cooperative and collaborative manner with fellow team members through constructive communication, flexibility, and exhibits a willingness to assist other team members. Collaboration may occur with global regional teams during nonstandard US working hours
  • Investigate complaints – Evaluate medical complaints to determine filing requirements per MDR/GMP/Combination Products regulations and other regulatory requirements
  • Files serious event/incident reports in accordance with country specific health authority regulations. Investigate and document non-medical complaints as necessary
  • Request and compile information for claims relating to adverse reactions; coordinate the reimbursement process
  • Review complaint files for accuracy and completeness per GMP regulations
  • Investigate and document account and consumer complaints/concerns and inquiries
  • Participates in investigations, audits, cross-functional teams, and other related duties as assigned by management
  • Adheres to environmental policy and procedures and supports department environmental objectives

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a High School diploma is required
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience is required
  • Ability to field up to 25 Customer Phone Calls required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
  • Ability to travel up to 10% within North America required
  • Post marketing Reporting of Adverse Drug Experiences, and 21 CFR Part 803 Medical Device Reporting preferred
  • Strong Understanding of 21 CFR Part 4 Good Manufacturing Practice Requirements for Combination Products, 21 CFR Part 314.80 preferred
  • RN or BS Degree preferred
