WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for detailed multi-tasker with strong communication skills and a knowledge of apparel trims and textiles. You will be an important member of our materials development team who analyze development technical packages for accurate test methods and confirm that all test requirements are met. The development team rely on this partnership to ensure testing documentation is completed according to commercialization timelines. You will possess some knowledge of apparel industry test methods and standards. You have a passion for improving systems and process improvement.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

You will be the main point of contact to advise on material test methods and drive integrity of test data and accuracy of the information in our PCX system. You will own buy ready approval processes and be the main point of contact to help solve testing issues. This individual will communicate with domestic and international partners to problem solve testing issues and ensure each development stays on track to ensure deadlines are met. You will keep the tracking system up to date with your projects and risk access potential delays. You will collaborate with Standards Management team and partner with textile & trim developers to understand each development and appropriate testing. Lastly, you will collaboration internally with the Materials Development I community to help maintain process documentation and alignment.

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?

This is the Nike matrix: You will report into the Global Apparel Materials Team (GLAM) and support your development partners in seasonal textile & trim developments. You are a critical team member of the material development community and sought out as the expert resource of testing standards. You will work in partnership with Product Integrity, Standards Management, and Apparel Lab teams on company initiatives related to PCX system, testing process, and methods.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Apparel, Textiles or a related field or combination of relevant education, experience and training
  • 1 – 2 years relevant work experience preferred
  • Data entry experience and strong systems focus
  • Solid understanding of MS Office applications
  • Able to anticipate needs, solve problems, perform research and analyze results
  • High attention to detail and capable of balancing multiple priorities
  • Displays ability to be assertive, resourceful, self-motivated and work collaboratively
  • Apparel design and development process knowledge is preferred
  • Understanding of textile fundamentals a plus (construction, yarn, fiber, dying, printing and finishing)
  • Lab testing and global material development experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of various material types: trims, knits, wovens, leathers, etc.
  • Experience coordinating multiple projects with contending resources and targets across seasons
  • Strong information seeking-skills, a drive to make things happen along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse group
  • Strong verbal and written communications with the ability to network and utilize internal and external resources
  • Digital literacy, including Microsoft office applications and Product Data Management
