Our division is creating a Future Talent Rotation (FTRP) program with roles based in our Lenexa KS and DeSoto KS sites. We are seeking candidates, who are curious, have a keen interest in our industry and a strong desire to learn about various career pathways in our industry. This part-time role is designed to allow successful candidates the ability to maintain progress toward completing your degree.
Future Talent Rotational Program Job Description
Our Future Talent Rotational Program will allow our FTRP employee(s) to gain experience in cross-functional departments within our US Commercial organization, manufacturing and Research and Development. FTRP employees will not only learn about our company but they will acquire invaluable business and gain relevant work experience in many facets of our business with the goal to set you up for a successful career in our industry.
The FTRP will consist of three rotations, each approximately six months in duration for a total of an eighteen-month rotation. Selected candidates will rotate through several core functions of the US Commercial, Manufacturing and Research and Development organizations. These rotations are designed with the goal for each selected candidate to gain exposure and understanding of how each department functions and how the overall contribution these organizations make to our business. Our program provides students practical skills through hands-on assignments and collaboration with a team of talented industry professionals. Each FTRP employee will be partnered with a mentor who will be able to help with acculturation at our company and career planning. All FTRP employees will be assigned rotations based on their individual development interests, discussions with their mentor, and alignment with business needs.
The FTRP employee will have the opportunity to experience working in the following organizations:
US Commercial
Our U.S. Commercial Team is our customer-facing realm of our business. This team consists of sales and veterinary teams, marketing, pharmacovigilance; and an array of support functions including finance, communications and customer service. As the “face” of our company, the Commercial Team engages with our customers to deliver the products, solutions and knowledge they need to ensure the health of their animals.
Research & Development
Our company is responsible for all aspects of discovery & development of our early, mid and late-stage pipeline of pharmaceutical and biological products. This work includes ensuring safety & efficacy, all while adhering to strict quality and regulatory requirements. Products developed by R&D span species in companion animals, livestock and aquaculture.
Manufacturing:
Our company produces and distributes vaccines and pharmaceutical animal products. This is accomplished through its interdependent manufacturing network, dedicated staff, high-quality manufacturing operations and processes, and sophisticated approach to supply chain.
Program Quick Facts & Locations:
- Program Locations are either Lenexa KS/DeSoto KS
- Benefits: Part-time Position (@20-25 hours/week) eligible for part-time benefits including tuition reimbursement
- Eligible to apply for full-time roles upon successful completion of the rotational program
Required Education, Experience and Skills:
- Currently enrolled in undergraduate studies as either a sophomore or junior year student
- Must be able to work 20-25 hours per week throughout the course of the internship (in-person or virtual)
PREFERRED Experience and Skills:
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Enrolled in an undergraduate program in Animal Science or other related sciences, Technology, Engineering, Math, Business, Computer Science or similar degree program
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities
- Commitment to self-development and proven ability to receive and action feedback.
- A practical and creative approach to problem solving.
- Ability to summarize and communicate important data.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and presentation skills.
Our Support Functions deliver services and make recommendations about ways to enhance our workplace and the culture of our organization. Our Support Functions include HR, Finance, Information Technology, Legal, Procurement, Administration, Facilities and Security.
