In order to further assist our clients in making sound financial choices, Edward Jones is establishing a Utah based Industrial Bank. This bank will offer cash sweep deposits and securities-based lending services to Edward Jones clients in order to enhance versatility of our offerings and engage clients holistically on more of their financial and investment needs in the short, medium and long term.

We are seeking a Bank Accountant to join our team in Salt Lake City, Utah.

  • This position will be responsible for assisting in the design and implementation of core bank accounting and reporting functions.
  • They will assist in the development of bank policies, procedures and controls that ensure compliance with accounting and regulatory rules.
  • They will be responsible for performing various ongoing accounting, financial reporting, and regulatory reporting of the bank.
  • They will also be responsible for bank specific accounting and reporting, primarily focused on core bank balance sheet and income statement; including reconciliations, recording, and accounting close processes.
  • The bank accountant will generate data for financial and call reporting, as well as other informational reporting and work with various areas of bank business units and bank management to ensure planning, budgeting and research of bank financial results.
  • They will be providing reporting that gives insight into progress of the bank and influences decision making.
  • This individual will work directly with operations and treasury associates to ensure bank information is generated for ongoing capital and liquidity monitoring.
  • They will be responsible for inter-company contracts across the organization and monitoring metrics and service level agreements for finance specific functions.
  • They will assist with the coordination of Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Improvement Act control compliance for finance specific functions and collaborate on financial statement creation and facilitate audits and exams.
  • A Bachelor’s degree is required with emphasis in Accounting or Finance highly preferred
  • Professional license, or working towards designation, is a plus
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in accounting, finance or related field is preferred
  • Bank specific accounting and regulatory experience is required
