Job Description

Northrop Grumman is seeking a detailed oriented individual to join our team and assist with internal contact tracing and tracking related to potential or confirmed COVID-19 cases.
This position is temporary part-time (estimated apx 30 hours per week) for approximately 6 months.
The role will primarily be remote, with an occasional need to come into the Chandler, AZ office.
The selected professional will be responsible for taking intake calls, conducting contact tracing to determine potential internal close contacts, maintain internal metrics and logs, and providing ongoing communication to the leadership team as well as employees. Potential case disposition and dialogue with contacts will be guided by internal protocols to obtain any symptom history and other relevant health information, provide instructions for self-quarantine, and provide direction regarding return to work timeframe.
This position will require prioritization, prompt action, and attention to detail in documentation and data management as multiple investigations will be conducted simultaneously. The selected professional will be required to follow all company policies and procedures regarding confidentiality and data security for the handling of sensitive employee information and protected health information.
The position will require responding to company health and safety situations with rapid turnaround times for communication, initiation and completion of assignments. The position will require daily use of a computer, telephone or cell phone, and access to a secure internet connection. The position may require working non-standard hours (i.e., evenings, weekends).
Job Duties:
  • Act as the primary point of contact for employees and leaders within the Launch Vehicles business unit for employees who are exhibiting symptoms or have been in contact with someone who is or been confirmed positive.
  • Complete case intake form to document pertinent health information and additional exposure risk to other employees.
  • Provide approved information and guidance on quarantine procedures and return to work timeline/guidelines.  Coordinate internal cleaning requests as needed, per local protocols.
  • Communicate to identified close contacts and provide direction to employee on next steps.
  • Log case information in Sector and Business Unit tracking format • Prepare and distribute daily leadership update • Provide daily follow up with employees during quarantine period to check on their health and pending test results.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or General Education Development (GED) equivalent with at least four years of health and safety, customer service, administrative, or closely related experience
  • The ability to successfully work a remote position, with the ability to work in-person on occasion
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including active listening
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and the ability to use sound judgment in responding to situation
  • Ability to use discretion, maintain confidentiality and ethical conduct
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees, establishing and maintaining collaborative professional relationships
  • Strong time management skills (organization, prioritization, multitasking)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency with use of computers
  • Proficiency with MS Office (i.e., Outlook, Word)

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience conducting telephone-based or in-person interview, data collection and data entry are preferred
  • Experience with health education, community outreach, linkage to care, social services, or other public health services
  • An associate’s degree, certification in medical field, or bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university
