Who we are looking for

In 1981, Nike built the EKIN team (EKIN is “Nike” spelled backwards) to be Nike’s brand ambassador and keep its entrepreneurial spirit alive through personal and meaningful relationships in the community. EKINS carry Nike’s passion for the brand and product to improve our retail partners product knowledge through consistent and timely education!

We seek an EKIN to join our team. This role will build unforgettable education experiences for Firstline employees (store associates) at Nike Retail aligned to key brand priorities. As Nike’s product authority, EKINs use their voice both internally and at times, externally, to empower all athletes to make sport a daily habit.

Top candidates should have an outstanding passion, strong connections to sport, demonstrated leadership and influence within their community, and excellent presentations skills!

What you will work on

  • Bringing key business and brand stories to life across the marketplace as Nike’s product authority
  • Leveraging marketplace expertise to develop locally-relevant seasonal plans in partnership with city marketing teams
  • Demonstrating your passion and position to strategically authenticate brand stories with key influencers in the marketplace.
  • Creating experiential training plans to energize Firstline Athletes across Nike-owned retail concepts and deliver effective tools that drive reach and impact across many formats, including digital live-streams, Zoom calls, and immersive in-person sessions.
  • Actively participate in the community, you’ll integrate and collaborate with the community in a meaningful and impactful ways that reinforce Nike’s mission and beliefs. You will also serve as Nike’s eyes and ears, shaping marketplace insights with observations of the consumer, product, competition, and trends.

Who will you work with

You will report into the Territory EKIN Manager and will work collaboratively with your City and Geography marketing teams to inform seasonal plans. You will collaborate with the NAX Training and Delivery team, and Retail Concept Leads to create the holistic vision for Nike’s Firstline athlete population. You will work with Nike’s Field Leadership teams, Store teams, and Retail Store Operations team as execution partners. Additionally, you will handle external vendor partners in the creation of training events.

What you bring

  • Bachelors’ degree plus a minimum 1-year retail, sales, customer service, coaching or teaching experience
  • 2 additional years of experience is required in lieu of a degree
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the market as it relates to consumer trends, local market hot spots, and retail destinations
  • Ability to connect and inspire people, meeting facilitation and making strategic recommendations
  • Ability to drive a culture of always-on testing and learning, including the rapid application of consumer signals into strategy, planning, and content iteration
  • Must have a deep passion for the NIKE brand and sports
  • Experience in content creation and online storytelling on social media across the digital world
  • Must travel up to 50% of the time
  • Must lift heavy objects and sample bags that weigh up to 50 lbs.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and valid automobile insurance
  • Experience with an event agency or large-scale special events preferred but not required
