Organization Overview: The HSE Associate – IAPI provides technical support and expertise for Indianapolis API Operations in the development, implementation and maintenance of health and safety programs and processes. The vision is an injury-free workplace that is in compliance with Federal, State and local regulations as well as company policies. The position supports API manufacturing, labs, and administrative operations.
Responsibilities: The HSE Associate provides technical support and expertise for Indianapolis API Operations in the development, implementation and maintenance of health and safety programs and processes. The HSE Associate evaluates and aids in the control of personnel exposure potential to hazards encountered in the workplace and is a champion for safety and continuous improvement. The position supports API manufacturing, labs, and administrative operations.
- Develop, implement and sustain health and safety programs and procedures.
- Serve as a technical resource on health and safety practices for the site.
- Lead cross-functional teams in the implementation/sustainment of HSE programs, including metric trending for improved site HSE performance.
- Role may support site operations as an area frontline HSE representative.
- Assist in facility/equipment design and evaluation for risk elimination and control of hazards.
- Support and directly execute key elements of the HSE management system including, but not limited to, event and change management processes, business planning, and assessments and inspections.
- Interface with key site partners (e.g., LTC H&S, Global HSE, Safety Management Group, ATI) to ensure HSE services are adequately delivered to the site.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years or more experience in the safety field or related scientific discipline.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Strong computer application skills.
Additional Skills/Preferences:
- Manufacturing experience.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate risks and determine creative solutions to support business initiatives.
- Demonstrated abilities to work well with people and achieve results with others.
Additional Information:
- Tasks require entering manufacturing and laboratory areas which require wearing appropriate PPE.
- Must carry a cell phone as position supports 24 hours/day manufacturing.
