About this role
Develops, analyzes, and implements the firm’s domestic and international relocation policies and practices. Monitors and administers payment of all expatriate allowances, as well as special items such as moving expenses, by partnering with other internal and external stakeholders (e.g., vendors, payroll).
Job Description:
The Immigration Analyst will be responsible for being a key contributor in shaping the development of BlackRock’s immigration program. Reporting directly to the Head of Global Immigration, the ideal candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Act as a liaison between BlackRock and the immigration vendor, serving as an escalation point to ensure a superior service delivery experience for our employees.
- Review and document all existing local and regional immigration processes and associated timelines; develop subject-matter expertise on high-volume countries.
- Provide guidance and/or coordination on key matters and initiatives, including campus recruitment and visa contingency planning.
- Partner with relevant stakeholders to develop and/or enhance business processes associated with Vendor Management, including performance and invoice payments.
- Prepare reports that are relevant to the program, including budget/spend, population, and out of scope requests.
- Work with the Head of Global Immigration on various projects to identify process improvement opportunities.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources or directly related field.
- 2-3 years of experience as a hands-on, high-volume immigration paralegal covering financial services or high-technology clients.
- Working knowledge of varied U.S. visa types, processes and the experience reviewing case facts to interpret technical advice and reach commercial decisions. Knowledge of global visas is a plus.
- Experience articulating immigration matters to stakeholders and influencing decisions.
- Project management experience across multiple disciplines and stakeholders – driving projects from conception to implementation.
- Experience analyzing situations and spot potential issues.
- Experience working with confidential data and handling sensitive matters.
- Experience working independently but contributing within a team environment (remote and onsite).
