Come join Cisco Talos, Ci sco’s Security Intelligence and Research Group to help drive security for Cisco and its customers. The successful candidate will work on a global team of security analysts focusing on the changing threat landscape and its effect on Cisco and our customers.

The Outreach Researcher is a security expert in at least one domain, with broad knowledge across the area. You maintain abreast of threats/outbreaks that impact technology and you’re recognized as an expert in security by your peers.

What You’ll Do

Essential Job Responsibilities Identify significant cyber campaigns from internal or external data sources. Research both nation state and crimeware threats and campaigns Communicate these threats in written reports and in presentations to customers and the security community in general. Promote Cisco security thought leadership through media outreach and collaborative reporting. Manage reporting and dissemination of security intelligence and research efforts. Monitor, identify, and respond to timely security events. Some travel, probably at some point

Skills Required Ability to analyze malware, vulnerabilities, and related threats. Source and analyze data from available sources both internal and external. Experience in presenting at research conferences. Excellent communication skills both verbal (presentations) and non-verbal (technical writing) Experience with scripting languages such as Perl or Python. Experience working with large, diverse data sets. Deep understanding of all phases of the intrusion kill chain. Able to identify bugs with major external impact. Deep understanding of nation state and/or crimeware threats and associated campaigns.
