As a product safety & quality specialist, you will lead the team responsible for…
• Follows standards and procedures and leverage existing tools to assure that suppliers meet requirements
• Applies technical knowledge to projects (i.e. testing, supplier and product assessments, documentation)
• Supports auditing and qualification of low-risk suppliers. Gathers, reviews, and ensures availability and accuracy of supplier documentation related to facilities, products, and programs. Ensures successful and timely completion of audits of corrective actions
• Supports investigation and troubleshooting of product issues and concerns
• Monitors customer and partner complaints, routinely summarizes data and reports issues
• Develops working knowledge of product safety and quality practices and trends
Supports creation of project plans for specific projects including identification of activities and timelines
• Completes assigned work and goals and adapts to changing priorities
• Builds relationships within the department, cross-functional teams and suppliers
• Explains and delivers effective communication. Develops content for presentations
• Works collaboratively across the organization and with suppliers to support Product Safety and Quality programs
We’d love to hear from people with experience:
Education General Science (4 years), Food Safety, Microbiology, Env Public Health or Food Science Degree – 4-year degree preferred.
Basic Qualifications:
Ability to prepare clear and concise verbal, written, and visual presentations for managers and cross-functional peers Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines Ability to think creatively Ability to organize collection of data, analyze information and capture conclusions Quantitative and analytical ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, rapidly-changing environment Understands partnership culture with ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally Strong organizational skills.
Experience in food technology, food science, manufacturing, equipment, quality assurance, microbiology, food safety or R&D Food Safety Certifications, such as safe food handling, sanitation, PCQI, HACCP, etc. Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP principles.
Years of experience in specific field or utilizing designated skills 2-3 years minimum experience.
