The Amgen Translational Immunology and Safety Sciences group based in South San Francisco, CA, is seeking a Scientist to independently conduct immune-related safety assessments to support Oncology, Inflammation, and Cardio-metabolic disorders pipeline projects.

In this vital role, you will:

  • Collaborate closely with scientists within the Translational Safety organization.
  • Perform literature-based evaluations
  • Perform in vitro assays for various pipeline projects
  • Present the work to cross-functional teams.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree
  • Master’s degree and 4 years of immunology, immune-oncology or molecular biology experience OR
  • Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of immunology, immune-oncology or molecular biology experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree
  • The candidate should be able to independently initiate and drive projects, intellectually contribute to project development, as well as perform cellular immunology techniques including multi-color flow cytometry, ELISA, MSD and in vitro immune cell assays.
  • The candidate is encouraged to have basic immunology training and strong cellular immunology and cell culture technical skills. In addition, the candidate should have strong verbal and written communication skills, be highly motivated, creative and collaborative.
  • Track record of independent critical thinking and scientific achievement in the area of immunology.
