Bristol Myers Squibb is recruiting for a Scientist in the Impurity Center of Excellence in Analytical Development and Attribute Sciences organization. The Impurity Center of Excellence is accountable for establishing analytical control strategy of biologics process related impurities including development of phase-appropriate analytical methods for drug candidates in Bristol Myers Squibb portfolio spanning early and late stage clinical programs through commercialization. This position reports to the head of Impurity CoE.

The Scientist is responsible for developing analytical methods and exploring/introducing new technologies for the measurement and/or identification of impurities in biologic products. The Scientist will contribute to method development, validation, and life-cycle management of methods and their critical reagents. The scientist will support GMP testing and will author and review scientific documents, such as methods, development reports, and qualification reports.

The CoE operates from two sites in NJ, at New Brunswick and at Summit. This position can be located at either of the sites. Bristol-Myers Squibb has a strong biologics portfolio for innovative therapies that includes approved biologic medicines and a rich clinical portfolio of diverse modalities including bispecific, trispecific, antibody, fusion protein, and fixed dose combination regimes. The scientist will provide analytical development support to multiple early-, mid-, and late-phase programs that requires close collaboration with stake holders in partner and contract organizations. Innovation is key to the success of the CoE, and the Scientist is expected to contribute to our technology development efforts.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Analytical Chemistry, or a related discipline with 0-2 years of experience in biopharmaceutical industry or M.S. with a minimum of 4-6 years of experience.
  • Proficient with a variety of analytical techniques, such as LC-MS analysis of proteins, immunoassays (ELISA), quantitative PCR (qPCR), and related techniques.
  • Working knowledge of developing and troubleshooting analytical methods.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment, operate independently, collaborate within and outside of the CoE, and deliver results in alignment with departmental objectives.
