Role Details:
The YouTube Producer oversees the execution of our YouTube strategy on the CBS News account. S/he will grow our YouTube audience by curating clips, live streaming high-interest events, and enforcing YouTube best practices. The right candidate for this role thrives in a fast-paced environment and is adept at juggling a number of responsibilities while on deadline, using a mix of editorial judgment and analytics to grow our account.

The hours for this role are Monday through Friday from 1-9 p.m. ET. You will need to work some holidays and shift your schedule as news breaks.

Your Day-to-Day:
Curate the CBS News YouTube account, selecting which videos to upload to the platform based on editorial judgment and analytics
Optimize all videos with SEO-friendly headlines, descriptions and tags
Create compelling, CBSN-branded YouTube thumbnails for videos
Run livestreams for breaking news, hearings, news conferences and other live events
Produce YouTube stories and community posts
Ideate and execute on strategies to drive conversion from YouTube to CBS News’ owned and operated platforms
Track and report back on analytics to help inform team’s decisions
Help push alerts team as needed, sending app, Apple News and OTT alerts to segments of the audience based on user behavior and location

Qualifications:

What you bring to the team:
You have at least 2 years of experience in a digital breaking news environment and proven ability to react quickly as news develops
You are a skilled writer and self-editor who can produce quality, SEO-friendly copy on deadline
You’re deeply familiar with analytics platforms and seek to use analytics to help shape your decisions
You are a collaborative team player who loves to work across many teams
Prior YouTube experience is a plus
